Sunday 5 May dawned fine, if a bit chilly, and a course in great condition greeted the players at Gosford for the Mixed Foursomes Championship.
Division 1 players, those with an aggregate handicap of 36, looked forward to 27 holes whilst the longer markers only faced 18.
On completion of the first 18 holes long time pairing, Leah Anderson and Peter Sliwinski of Shelly Beach enjoyed a 2 shot lead over Yvonne Boardman and Dave Willett from Toukley with Rebecca Goldsmith and son Jack a further shot back. The remaining 9 holes was hotly contested and both the pairings of Boardman / Willett and the Goldsmiths returned 39 & 38 respectively to the leaders 40 enabling Leah and Peter to again claim the title. On countback Rebecca and Jack were declared runners up.
Division 2 was also closely contested with Gosford pairings Dianne Beechey and Craig Ward and Vicki and George Foster both returning 92. Extra holes were required before Vicki and George prevailed to claim the Division 2 title.
The net event went to Georgina Lamb and Grahame Muller with a score of 75 by half a shot from Katherine Anderson and Neil Burland from Morisset.
