Saturday 26 July 2014 dawned, on the southern part of the Coast, overcast with intermittent rain. It did not look too good for the finalists, Morisset and Shelly Beach, but the Everglades course was open and it was deemed that play should proceed. As the tee time approached there was some light rain but it only lasted about 2 or 3 holes and then the sun broke through and the rest of the afternoon was fine and mild.
Shelly Beach proved too strong for the young Morisset side taking the Pennant by 3.5 wins to 1.5. There was quite a good following for both teams and the gallery was treated to some spectacular shot making by the boys. District representatives were impressed not only by the quality of the golf played but importantly by the manner in which the matches were played and with youngsters like these coming through the ranks golf on the Coast can only get stronger.
CCDGA congratulates Shelly Beach for capturing the title and both sides for the manner in which the matches were played.
Full details of the individual matches can be found on the Pennant Results page.
