The 2019 CCDGA District Singles Championship was played at Gosford Golf Club on Sunday 10 November. A small but enthusiastic field took to the course on a great day for golf and at the end of the day the course ran out the winner with the best score recorded being 72, one over par. Given that there were a number of plus markers in the field lower scores might have been expected but it was not meant to be.
Winners on the day were - Open Division Gross Winner Ethan Forsyth (Wy) 72, Runner up Aaron Walters (Ev) 73c/b, Nett Winner Matt Sheppard (Gos) 68, Runner up Curtis Larnach (SB) 72.
In the Juniors the gross winner was Danny Pedzikiewicz (Wy) 77 with Toukley's Keegan Phillips claiming the runners up prize with 80. The nett winner was Tom Stirling (Ev) 75 followed by Riley Millers (MS) 79.
The "golden oldies" (otherwise referred to as Masters) was won by Michael Bowditch (KW) with 78 from Michael Butler, also from KW and also with 78 on countback. The nett event was won by Arthur Szady (Wy) with 68 from Ron Carpenter (SB) with 73. To view all of the scores returned in the Championship click here.
Played in conjunction with the Singles Championship was the 2019 Champion of Champions event with the "A" grade title being claimed by Aaron Walters (Ev)with 73. Matt Garrett (SB) took out the "B" grade returning 84, Wyong's Arthur Szady on 85 was too good for the other "C" grade Champions, Danny Pedzkiewicz shot 77 for the junior title and Gosford local Duncan Brown posted 75 to take out the Masters honours.
