Despite dire weather warnings and substantial showers the night before the event, the 2023 2 Man Ambrose was played on Sunday 30 April at Everglades under clear blue skies and warm sunny conditions.

60 players took to the course on the tight par 67 course and there was some hot scoring with Division 1 being won by Jack Bennett and James Denniss, playing off a +0.75 handicap with a  great score of 59, 8 under par. Close second were locals, Simon Blake and Lee Papps who enjoyed a handicap of 2.90 (which wasn't really needed) who finished 7 under par 60 which featured an eagle, birdie, eagle run over holes 11,12 & 13.

The nett event in Division 1 was won by Tom Dafter and Will McGovern who returned a gross score of 4 under off their handicap of 3.45 which resulted in a winning score of 59.55. Close behind were playing partners Ben Ward and Craig Wickham off 0.80 who finished 6 under off the stick and a nett score of 60.20.

Division 2 was a little tighter with the scoring with 3 pairs, Greg and Richard Brien, Phil Crawford and Jeremy McAnally and Kyle and Peter Claxton all returning rounds of 2 under 65 requiring a countback to determine the winners. Even the countback was close but at the end of the day Greg and Richard Brien claimed the main prize from Phil Crawford and Jeremy McAnally.

Unfortunately for Kyle and Peter their handicap was not enough to get them into the winners circle and the nett event proved almost as close with the winners, Phil Heeney and Greg McFarlane claiming the prize by just .30 of a shot over Matthew Fitzgerald and Glen Miller.
