The 2024 Zone 2 Regional Championship, a 36 hole event open to male members of Clubs affiliated with clubs within the Central Coast, Hunter River, Lower North Coast and Newcastle District Golf Associations was played over the weekend of 10 / 11 August with the first round at Gosford on Saturday 10th and the second round at Wyong on Sunday 11th.
In all 106 players took part and were faced with golf courses set up to test the best of players which is reflected in the scores posted. The first round was played in great conditions for golf with fine sunny weather all afternoon and on Sunday, when some inclement weather was forecast, the golfing gods looked upon us favourably and the predicted bad weather didn't arrive until the field had almost completed their round and the players only had to contend with rain for about 1 or 2 holes.
It proved a great weekend for the juniors taking part with more than 50% of the prizes on offer going to juniors. The future looks bright!
