Toukley's shooting star, Annika Boyd, captured her first JNJG Masters series title at Bathurst over the weekend of 18/19 March when she played strongly over the final 18 holes to win the U14/15 Girls title.
The first round saw Annika off to a solid start but she appeared to falter dropping 6 shots to par on holes 10 & 12 but she showed true grit to close out the round and only drop one further shot for the last 6 holes. Not the round she wanted but good enough to have her in 5th place overall and only 6 shots off the lead.
Day 2 dawned and Annika showed the rest of the field that she was after a podium finish and with birdies on holes 9, 10 and 13 moved to 1 under after 14 holes and a solid base from which to go on to victory.
The JNJG Masters series is played over the year and by her win at Bathurst Annika has secured a spot in the Champions Trophy which will be played at Bonville in December.
Congratulations Annika, you should be very proud and good luck in the Australian Girls Amateur tournament at Port Kembla in April.
