The annual contest against Hunter River DGA for the Artie Mollett Shield was played at The Springs on Sunday April 29th.
Fine weather greeted the players as they arrived at the course which was in great shape considering the amount of rain over the past few months with only a few wet areas to contend with. However, almost as soon as the last match teed off, the weather changed and over the course of play all four seasons were evident.
A number of our junior players have progressed into the senior ranks and Ben Saunders, James Dennis and Chris Gray all made their debut for the District. There were some obvious nerves, not only from the debutants but also some of the more experienced players, but these soon settled and some great golf was played by players from both sides.
At the end of the day we retained the trophy with a 12 matches to 6 score line but the result could have been much closer as a number of matches were decided in the last couple of holes. Match results are below.
