The annual inter district match against Newcastle DGA was played at Toukley on Sunday 29 July 2012. The weather was perfect for golf and although Toukley, like most golf courses up and down the eastern seaboard, has received almost too much rain over recent months the golf course was in great shape barring a few wet areas. Preferred lies were in operation but this in no way detracted from the golf played and some great shots were witnessed by those of us lucky enough to be in attendance.

Birdies were aplenty and three eagles were recorded during the course of play, the first by Craig Wickham when, after clipping a tree with his drive on the par 4 5th hole, he muscled a full blooded three metal straight in the hole. Moments later Newcastle's Daniel Buyers holed a gap wedge for his second shot on the par 4 7th and then Alex Pitty skilfully curved a three iron around some trees on the par 4 5th for the second eagle of the day on that hole. The number of birdies recorded proved too much to keep track off but more than one player was under par when his match finished.

At the end of the day CCDGA proved too strong for Newcastle and captured the Artie Mollett Trophy 14 matches to 4. Full match results are:
