Toukley's Darcy Boyd, playing in the Australian Amateur Championship in Perth, has had a great tournament thus far securing a joint medalist win in the stroke play section and will now go on to the match play rounds no doubt in great spirits and what seems to be excellent form.
Darcy jumped out of the gate in the first round returning a stunning 7 under par round at Lake Karrinyup Country Club and then consolidated his position at the top of the Leader Board with another sub par round of 70 (par 72) at Wanneroo GC to finish at 9 under for the two rounds and joint first place with Western Australia's Connor Mckinney.
The leading 64 players now turn their attention to the knockout match play stage of the tournament in a week of golf that will test the stamina, both physical and mental, of all of the players.
No doubt celebrations are already under way at Toukley GC, Darcy's home club, and the Coast will be willing Darcy on in his efforts to capture the Australian title.
