Most golfers on the Central Coast, and many from surrounding areas, are aware that Kooindah Waters Golf Club suffered greatly from the dry heat (before the rains came) back in January/February and, as a result of the weather conditions and a lack of good water, most of their greens suffered severe setbacks with surface damage ranging from 10 to 50% of surface coverage.
Kooindah, over the past few months, has undertaken a massive renovation programme and has oversown the existing surfaces with a blend of A1/A4 bent which has blended nicely with the older surface and it is now hard to pick the difference. The benefit of this blend is that it is more drought, heat and salt tolerant than the old G2 grass and the problem should not resurface.
Kooindah has issued an explanatory press release which can be read by clicking here.
To celebrate Kooindah is hosting an Open Day on Friday 23 June 2017 to be played as a single stableford with a 2BBB in conjunction commencing at 9am in shotgun format. For the fantastically low price of $30.00 (yes $30.00) per head you will receive your game of golf in a shared cart, a bacon and egg roll breakfast, a buffet lunch on completion of the round and be eligible to win some fantastic Titleist prizes.
This all seems too good to be true but rest assured it is correct. The Management and staff at Kooindah Waters are keen to have golfers try the new greens and to express their appreciation of your continued support during the past few months.
