This event was initiated many years ago and is played annually by CCDGA, Hunter River DGA, Lower North Coast DGA and Newcastle DGA for the Col Johnston Shield. The event this year is to be played at Kurri Kurri over the weekend of 31 October / 1 November.
Aimed at younger less experienced players but who are in the eyes of the selectors as possible future inter district players, the event is played in a round robin format of 3 x 9hole matches against each of the other DGAs. Many of todays well recognised local players, and some that have gone on to represent NSW, commenced their representative career in this event.
The team selected to play this year is Shayden Binder, Annika Boyd, Dylan Grogan, Cooper Hetherington, Jake Kable, Eden Middleton and Dylan Moore. The team will be managed by District Captain, Steve Fallon assisted by immediate past President, Bob Robards.
Congratulations to all selected and may this be the start of a long and successful representative career.
