This event was to have been played at Wyong Golf Club last Sunday, 5 November but unfortunately play could not go ahead due to the inclement weather that commenced on Saturday night and continued all day on Sunday.
The Association met on 8 November and examined the possibility of rescheduling the event but determined that at such short notice it would be almost impossible to secure a venue during the remaining part of the year and with Xmas looming players would have other commitments that could force them to miss the Championship.
Commencement of the Pennants mid January through to mid March compounded the problem and all of the Clubs have been securing bookings for the next year from social clubs, an important part of their revenue stream.
Accordingly, a decision was taken to abandon the event for 2023. The 2023 Champion of Champions will be played in conjunction with the 2024 Singles Championship and Champion of Champions which is scheduled to be played in November.
